At the University of Ecology and Management, the admission to all 1st and 2nd degree studies takes place without entrance exams – the number of places is limited, the order of enrolment is decisive. Exceptions are the fields of Architecture, Interior Design and Design. There are additional requirements for these fields. For Architecture, applicants must submit a portfolio; for Interior Design and Design, applicants must pass a drawing exam. Detailed information can be found in the description of the individual programmes.

In order to pay for the studies, download an invoice from your personalised user account.
The invoice is automatically generated in euro. The amount includes at least 2 semesters of tuition fees, recruitment and entry fees, as well as study invitations. Send the confirmation of payment to your personalised user account.
Once you have paid the fees, we will send you the study invitation necessary to obtain your student visa. You will receive it electronically, as well as by post. Please check that the correspondence address on your user account is correct.
To speed up the process, you can order a courier at your own expense and inform the International Relations Office when the courier will pick up the package.
In case of visa refusal, inform the International Relations Office by sending an e-mail to: admissions@wseiz.pl. We will then send you information about the refund procedure.

As a foreign student you have two options to legalise your stay in Poland – applying for a visa or a residence card.
VISA
In order to obtain a national visa (D-type) contact the visa centre or the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in the country of your residence.
A national visa (D-type) entitles its holder to enter and permanently stay on the territory of the Republic of Poland or to several consecutive stays lasting in total more than 90 days.
The validity period of a national visa shall not exceed 1 year. A national visa entitles its holder to travel to other Schengen countries for a maximum period of 3 months within a 6-month period.
Based on a national visa (D-type) you may stay in Poland for a maximum of 1 year.
It is recommended to come to Poland holding a valid D-type visa.

RESIDENCE CARD
As a student, you may stay in Poland on the basis of a residence card.
A temporary residence permit is granted for the duration of studies, however for no longer than 3 years (the first permit for no longer than 15 months). Those who have a residence card may repeatedly cross the boarders of Poland without a visa.

Attention! To apply for a residence permit, get a current confirmation of continuation of studies from the appropriate UEM Dean’s Office and a payment confirmation of tuition fees from the WSEiZ Accountancy Office.

In addition, a short interview will be carried out with candidates. Based on the result of the interview, an appropriate option will be chosen to prepare you for studies in Polish, e.g. a preparatory Polish language course.

In addition, a short interview will be carried out with candidates through ZOOM or SKYPE. Based on the result of the interview, an appropriate option will be chosen to prepare you for studies in English, e.g. a preparatory English language course.
Since 2021, in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education on undertaking studies by foreigners, you do not need to have health insurance.
Attention!
For the sake of our students’ safety, however, the Authorities of WSEiZ recommend you to have health insurance which is valid for the whole academic year on the territory of Poland.
We recommend buying health insurance (travel) valid for the whole academic year on the territory of Poland before you come to us to study. You can buy the insurance in your country of residence.
Are you a foreign student staying on the territory of Poland? At WSEiZ we recommend that you buy state voluntary health insurance which provides primary medical care, free consultations and treatment, as well as qualified assistance in case of an emergency.
We encourage you to sign a voluntary health insurance contract with the National Health Fund (NFZ). If you want to sign the contract, visit a branch of the National Health Fund and the Social Security Institution (ZUS) in Warsaw. There you will fill in a questionnaire ‘about the health insurance in the NFZ’. Be sure to bring your passport (residence card), confirmation that you are studying at WSEiZ, and your student’s ID card.
Contributions are paid to the ZUS account. For foreign students the fee is 55,80 PLN per month.

Each student of the first cycle studies at WSEiZ who obtained a secondary school graduation certificate abroad (expect the diplomas gained in Ukraine, Belarus, Turkey, read more, who else is exempted from the diploma validation procedure – see point II), should follow the procedure to recognise the diploma obtained abroad. The validation of foreign studies and degrees takes place in Poland at the Education Office in Warsaw. As a student, you should receive a positive decision from the Education Office in Warsaw by the end of the first semester of your studies. You can start the procedure after beginning your studies at WSEiZ. If your secondary school graduation certificate is not recognised in Poland, you will not be able to continue your studies at WSEiZ. The procedure of validation of the diploma is free of charge!

As a candidate for studies, you should obtain the following documents necessary for the procedure of validation of the diploma received abroad before coming to Poland:
All documents have to be translated into Polish by a sworn translator (lista tłumaczy przysięgłych) or by the Consul of the Republic of Poland .
By the end of the first semester, you have to submit a positive decision on the recognition of your diploma obtained abroad to the appropriate Dean’s Office of WSEiZ.
If you do not submit the decision in time or you submit a negative decision on the recognition of your diploma obtained abroad, you will be automatically deleted from the list of students and you will not be able to continue your studies at WSEiZ. The University is not responsible for the process of recognition of the diploma obtained abroad and for the decision taken by the Education Office.
The academic year begins on 1st of October and ends on September 30th of the following calendar year. Classes in the winter semester may start before 1st of October. The summer semester starts on 1st of March. In some fields of study, classes may start in the second half of February.
Recruitment for studies in the winter semester starts in May each year (for 1st and 2nd cycle studies), for the summer semester in January each year (for 2nd cycle studies or higher semesters of 1st and 2nd cycle studies – in the case of transfer from other universities).
Recruitment for the winter semester for studies lasts until the end of September, or until the limit of places in a given field is depleted. The final date is a start of the academic year. In order to enter the territory of the Republic of Poland, a foreigner must have a valid visa, therefore we recommend you to complete all the formalities related to recruitment by the end of August in order to be able to obtain a visa (obtaining visa takes approx. 30-60 days). Recruitment for studies starting in summer semester lasts until the end of February or until the limit of places is exhausted.
Required level of knowledge of the Polish language – B1. Each candidate for studies should undergo an interview in order to verify the level of knowledge of the Polish language.
UEM is a private university, therefore studies at UEM are payable. The possession of the Karta Polaka by foreigners also does not entitle them to study for free.

No. As part of the recruitment, all documents are presented in electronic form. The original documents must be submitted after coming to Poland to study, no later than two days before the start of studies.
Enrolment for studies is open from Monday to Friday, from 08:00 to 14:00, in room 6 (University of Ecology and Management in Warsaw, ul. Olszewska 12, ground floor).
UEM offers places in the university dormitory. Foreign candidates admitted to the first year of studies at UEM may apply for a place in the dormitory.
To collect an ID card, first make a payment of PLN 22 to the account specified in the contract. You will receive the ID card at the dean’s office of the faculty that leads your field of study. Upon receipt of the document, a confirmation of payment must be presented.
Class schedules are posted on our website https://www.wseiz.pl usually two weeks before the beginning of the academic year. Any comments on the timetable should be reported to the Dean’s office. Attention! Before the beginning of the academic year, the timetables are updated. Before coming to class, check your timetable again.
Each student obtains an ID for the Virtual University, i.e. the university system. It contains important information on: the timetable, grades, financial calculations, diplomas, activity choices, announcements and surveys.
UEM reserves a right to resign from launching the field or form of studies chosen by the Candidate/Student due to insufficient number of candidates for studies, committing to return the amounts paid: the enrolment fee, registration fee and tuition fee. Written notification of resignation from starting a major or a form of study is equivalent to the termination of the contract by UEM.
Each candidate, choosing a field of study, additionally declares a preliminary selection of a specialization. UEM does not guarantee the creation of the specialization declared by the candidate when enrolling in the studies. The final decision regarding the creation of a specialization depends on the choice of the majority of students who learn a given field.
During the first year of studies, basic subjects for a given field of study are carried out, while in higher semesters, specialized subjects are added to the main block of subjects, according to the specialization that was launched in a given field.
Public transport tickets:
Most banks offer special, often free, student accounts. You must show a valid student ID or certificate from the university. An account can be set up in person by visiting a bank branch or by completing an application online (in this case, the account opening agreement is sent by courier). Most banks allow customers to access and maintain their account via the Internet. After opening an account, the bank sends a payment card within a few weeks, which can be used to withdraw the necessary amounts from ATMs or to make payments up to the agreed limit. Detailed bank offers may vary. We recommend contacting the financial advisor at the bank’s branch directly.
You can buy a SIM card at any kiosk or directly from the operator. To register a prepaid phone, please contact the same operator from which it was purchased. You must have an ID card or a foreign passport with you.
