Why is it worth studying Environmental Protection at UEM (WSEiZ) in Warsaw?

Why is it worth?

In Poland, spending on environmental protection continues to rise – in 2019 it amounted to over PLN 64 billion. Current legal conditions and the challenge facing ecology in its broadest sense in Poland and the European Union mean that the future belongs to environmental protection because without investment in this area, the future of us – humans is at risk. Therefore, as a graduate of the first degree Environmental protection studies, you will carry out such tasks as:

  • reducing energy intensity,
  • increasing the use of renewable energy sources,
  • rationalising the use of raw materials,
  • improving waste management,
  • reducing emissions of greenhouse gases and other atmospheric pollutants, which in the context of air pollution in Poland is of great importance,
  • improving water quality along with the technical improvement of the sewage treatment process.

Environmental issues are one of the most important challenges in the global economy of the 21st century – together with the concerns about the planet, its resources and the quality of life of future generations. This means that numerous career paths will open up for specialists in this field. As a graduate of this field of study, you will be able to quickly find your place on the labour market and implement projects that have a real impact on the environment.

Environmental protection is an interdisciplinary field of study that combines natural knowledge with engineering competencies. As a future environmental protection specialist, you will acquire:

  • comprehensive knowledge related to the threats to the environment resulting from a human activity,
  • knowledge of how to restore (valorise) the natural environment,
  • skills in applying various environmental protection technologies in practice.

We are one of the two non-public universities in Mazovia which enables students to study Environmental Protection. Ecology is an extremely important aspect of UEM.

After completing your engineering or bachelor’s degree, you can deepen your knowledge related to environmental protection in a second degree programme.
