Academic Competence Courses were created to broaden professional skills of UEM (WSEiZ) students and listeners. By gaining additional knowledge and competences, course participants can better adapt to the constantly changing labour market.
Academic Competence Courses are conducted in accordance with the curriculum of individual subjects within the fields of study offered at UEM;
Classes are held in groups, consisting of both students and course listeners;
The credit requirements are identical for both participants of the courses and students;
Classes are conducted by academic teachers, and the quality of education is periodically inspected by the Polish Accreditation Committee;
Communication with the participant of the course will be conducted mainly via e-mail. Information sent to the e-mail address provided by the listener is considered to be forwarded to the interested party;
Admission to the course and any withdrawal from the course must be made in writing;
For some courses, prior mastery of certain skills is required to achieve appropriate learning outcomes – these are described in the course offerings as “prerequisites”.
Classes are held on Saturdays and Sundays, every two weeks except holidays, according to the current study program. 5 or 10 meetings (2, 4 or 6 periods);
A detailed schedule will be provided no later than 2 weeks before the start of the semester;
Planned course start date: October
Classes will start regardless of the number of listeners!
Registration for the course starts on September 15. Admission to the course is determined by the order of payment;
Classes may be held in the form of lectures and practical exercises: auditorium, project, laboratory, including computer lab;
Attendance at lectures is optional, and in the case of practical classes students may miss no more than 20% of the classes;
The form and rules for credit is presented by the academic teacher at the first meeting.
Grades for individual classes (lecture, auditory, project and laboratory exercises) are given separately;
If a listener does not receive a passing grade, he/she is entitled to a free of charge retake at an additional meeting after the end of the semester.
If the listener passes all forms of classes specified in the course program, he/she receives a CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION OF THE COURSE WITH A SUCCESSFUL RESULT.
At the listener’s request, the final result of the course may be indicated in the certificate in the form of a number, which is the arithmetic mean of the pass marks from individual classes.
If the listener does not obtain positive grades in all forms of classes, and the course program included exercises that the student attended (i.e. had no more than 20% absences), the student may receive a CERTIFICATE OF COURSE PARTICIPATION.
