STAFF WEEK UNDER THE ERASMUS+ PROGRAMME

From 28 June to 2 July 2021, the University of Ecology and Management in Warsaw once again held a Staff Week as part of the Erasmus+ Programme. The event was attended by participants from Kazakhstan, Kosovo and Turkey:

  • Asset Abylmazhinov and Alexey Klivenko from Shakarim State University of Semey,
  • Agron Bajraktari from University of Applied Sciences in Ferizaj,
  • Deniz Can Vural and Melike Nur Şahin from Alanya HEP University.

The topics of the meetings included, among others:

  • forms of cooperation with the socio-economic environment,
  • examples of implemented projects co-financed from EU funds,
  • functioning of higher education systems in Poland and partner countries,
  • challenges connected with ensuring education quality,
  • directions of international cooperation within the Erasmus+ programme,
  • organisation and principles of recruitment of students from abroad.

Participants held passionate discussions and exchanged observations, as well as they shared experiences and good practices. Participation in the Staff Week also provided an opportunity to get to know the partner universities better and to discuss the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on teaching and the organisation of education at this exceptional time, as well as to establish bilateral cooperation between the partners.

During the Staff Week participants took part in numerous meetings with the University authorities and UEM (WSEiZ) staff. Among them were: Institutional Erasmus+ Coordinator – A Vice-rector, dr Justyna Kłys, prof. UEM, Erasmus+ Programme Coordinators – mgr inż. Karolina Urban and mgr Paulina Wąż, a Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Management – dr Katarzyna Adamiak, prof. UEM, a Vice-Dean for Quality and Development of the Faculty of Architecture, dr Bogdan Gorczyca, prof. UEM, a Vice-rector, dr hab. Krzysztof Półtorak, prof. UEM, as well as Ievgeniia Mashukova from the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Engineering and Management, and mgr Nataliia Sokolova – a staff from the International Cooperation and Marketing Department.

During the event, participants also had the opportunity to visit the Old Town and see the panorama of Warsaw from the 30th floor of the Palace of Culture and Science.
